i dont think those type of contact lenses are really made with comfort in mind

you can get gas permeable you can sleep in, dailys etc

i use the ones u wear for a month then throw away, never had a problem

couldnt imagine wearing my glasses to play paintball

I wear glasses and use industrial anti mist spray(cos i got from work) but you can buy Bob Heath anti mist spray for visors from just about every m/bike shop which works just aswell.
I do my glasses about twice a day in winter and even do them in summer.
I wear a V force shield with dark lense most of the time and i can't say that i've ever noticed a reflection.:)

I wear my glasses under my Flexs and I've never really had a problem with the lenses on my glasses steaming up. The only time i have ever had a problem has been when I was out Marshalling once in the pouring rain and I had my hoddie pulled up over my head, was to be expected really. Because of the lack of problems I've never seen the need to bother with any 'anti fog' application, I'd see how you go at first and avoid putting stuff on as a matter of course. My glasses aint particually thin, the lenses are plastic and they have both an anti-reflective and anti scratch coating. Gonna hopefully get a set of profilers soon and I doubt I'll have any problems with my glasses steaming up with them either.

Laser Eye surgery....hmmmm.....Although the majority of patients achieve success there are still quite a lot of less than 100% successes. Sometimes the treatment will degrade over time resulting in the patient having to go back to glasses or contacts. Also, the long term effects haven't quite been proven yet, although I'm fairly seriously short sighted I'm not quite willing to put my sight on the line just yet. I'm gonna give it a few more years, let the technology stabilise a bit more.

Contacts might be a good option as far as when you are playing. I personally would recommend avoiding gas permeable (hard) lenses. I had them a few years ago and the comfort level could be likened to shoving shards of glass in ones eyes. Recently soft lenses have developed to a degree where I could actually use them, I have quite serious astigmatism and previously they would not have been able to correct my vision substantially. Daily disposables aren't even an option for me as they are not available in anywhere near the prescription that I would require (yet). Currently it's a case of trying to get a decent enough income in whereby I could afford the monthly soft lenses.

Hmm........I wonder if I'd keep my paintball moniker if i lost the specs....

A lot of steaming up glasses issues also come from the shape of your frames.

I had to change glasses last year to a rounder set of frames, and now I get steaming problems - basically because my lenses fill the space around my eyes - ie from cheek to eyebrow, whereas before my square frames had plenty of gaps above/below them.

And I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the benefit of (sufficiantly wide) glasses under goggles - with my spectra lenses, my glasses rub on the inside of the thermal bit, leaving whopping great marks, that annoy other people so much they won't touch my goggles - a big bonus back when I was marshalling regularly  :D
