Id say go with an etek 4 even second hand with a upgraded board,trigger and bolt and its still well below £500.

might have to then heard great things about the etek!

If you are looking for an Axe you wont go far wrong with one of these Bad Boys. I am part of a Empire sponsored team and we used these for over 3 years, have of the team used them in their standard format with no upgrades, I used mine with a different barrel as did a couple of others but really apart from a barrel there is no upgrades needed.

If your budget is £500 odd then I could sort you out with a loader, axe, barrel kit and you would still have some money left over for an air system (may have one of those as well !!)

It's mainly personal preference to be honest.
I really like the dyes and havnt had any problems with the ones ive used.
The geo a team mate uses and it's a beauty.
End of the day - go with your gut and what you like
