i was wondering if i have the on/off, if you have it turned to on while it's not screwed into the gun, will it leak air?

just wondering cuz a simple mistake could cost me $7 to get it filled

yes it will come out, it will be cold and white, i recomend wearing pball gloves while doing it, so your hands dont freeze if its on, but it shouldnt move on, if its turned off.

yeap ive been there and made that mistake

i was taking the bottle of my mag after a day of rec balling and forgot to close the value. i was wearing my gloves so it didn't affect me that much but my m8 sitting next to me was not too happy when a huge amount of freezing CO2 poured out on to his leg

:D :D :D :D

so yes it does matter

I think you're getting a little mixed up here, or i've misunderstood your last post...An anti-syphon isnt a type of valve. There are 2 types of CO2 valve... on/off and pin valve. You can have either with or without an antisyphon tube fitted. With the pin valve, as you screw it off the marker the pin is no longer depressed by the bottom line of the marker so it shuts off the flow of co2. You will still have pressure inside the marker's valve/hose/bottom line which needs to be fired off before you totally screw the bottle off or you will damage the o'ring on the bottle and have to replace it more or less each time you use it! Pin or on/off valves are equally as easy to use but either way you have to fire off the residual gas pressure before removing the bottle.
An anti-syphon is a tube which you can have (or may already have) fitted inside the bottle, attached to the valve. Its like a bent copper straw that sucks co2 gas from the top of the bottle (as its screwed onto the marker and held horizontally) so that your marker runs on co2 gas instead of syphoning the co2 liquid, hence ANTI-syphon.

i know that

i know what an anti siphon was and an on/off valve is, and a pin valve, but, if i have an anti siphon, it won't spray out liquid CO2 with an anti siphon when i unhook it, but it can still get rid of gas CO2, just nevermind, i'm getting confused and i think you guys are too

Ahh - comprehension strikes!

OK. IF you wanted to bleed off CO2 for some reason, and IF the bottle was in exactly the same orientation AND angle as it would be when mounted on your gun, then I guess you might get gaseous CO2 rather than that delightful powdery stuff when you opened the tap.

It's not clear why you might want to do that, and as has been stated above, simply unscrewing your bottle from the back of the gun would most probably not meet these conditions. i.e. goodbye O ring!

I think this needs to be said simpler.

YOU MUST TURN THE GOD DAMB BOTTLE VALVE OFF, BEFORE REMOVING THE BOTTLE.

AND BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE BOTTLE, AND AFTER YOU HAVE TURNED THE BOTTLE OFF. YOU MUST SHOOT THE MARKER UNTIL IT WILL SHOOT NO MORE,

AS THERE IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF GAS LEFT IN THE SYSTEM BETWEEN THE BOTTLE MOUNT AND THE MARKER, WHICH WILL MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE BOTTLE, AND DESTROY YOUR BOTTLE O-RING.

Sorry to have to make this more obvious, but i fell this is getting confusing, no offence intended, we all learnt these things, some the hard way.

Good luck, Tom.
