Hey guys, just a quick query to pick the brains of the 12,000 or so members we have here.

Basically i and a group of people on my course at uni have a major exhibition next year down in london town which we have to self finance.

Basically im looking for ideas for fundraising, what we can do to raise cash etc.

So far we have the standard:

Parties with entrance fee
Bake sale
Tuck shop
Selling a load of stuff on ebay
etc etc

But im looking for interesting and quirky ideas that are a bit different.

We're looking to raise about 5 - 6 grand.

Note - this isn't an appeal for money, just for ideas. Although if you'd like to donate i wont say no :)

Also the reason im posting up on here is cause im chairperson of the organising committee and im trying to get as many views as possible.

Another small point, if anyone has done exhibition organising and has any tips they will be gladly taken on board :)

Thanks guys...

m.

i've had peeople on uni courses looking to do that same sort of thing, they put together their best works of art that they did during their time at uni, and canvas it off in rich neighborhoods :)

No chance of approaching local firms for sponsorship?

Don't know what the exibit is about but may be feasible for companys in the area it involves sponsoring them?

When my other half needed to raise cash for her three weeks on Mercy ships in Liberia this year they did all sorts.

- Raffles
- Tombolas
- Car boot sales
- Donations

I can't remember all the rest.. will enquire when she arrives in from work :)

How attractive are your female assistants? If they're gorgeous they'll fleece the majority of blokes who come anywhere near, lol.

^^^ so true

having had a quick think, I remember at school that things like this usually didn't take off too well
people were more interesting in sponsoring people to do stupid things
such as sponsored leg shaves/waxes by guys
sponsored streaks

etc

or another which proved popular would be something with computer games or consoles. simple things like who can drive the fastest lap on Gran Turismo or a tournament on tekken. always got the lads to go along as we know how competitive we get with things like this, if you have Pro Evo, there would be some serious competition!
