Speed, agility, ability to keep tight, ability to snapshoot and agression tied in with patience.
You need to be able to move fast to get to the front bunkers, once you're there you need to be able to keep in tight but move around in your bunker, you must be able to snap shoot as you can't be out for more than a second or so and you need to be able to go for it at the right moment, but wait for that moment. You also need to be able to listen to your back player, who is your eyes & should tell you what's going on & sometimes when to move.
Depending on what level, style of player tou are & type of tourney you're playing, 3-5 pots should be all you'll need to carry.

Yep, practice practice practice. Not just getting the speed up, but sliding and/or diving in is a good skill to develop if you play front.

OK, it's a good skill to develop for any player, but can anyone see someone built like a typical back player (e.g. ME) diving in?:D :D :D

Don't just throw your knees on the ground and skid along. You'll know what I mean when you bruise your knee:)
A good set of knee pads are handy for this!
