freak kit

John, can I ask - in that case, if the argument is it's worth a small sacrifice to shoot thousands of balls down a 'drainpipe', is it really worth me changing from the stock barrel on my Fly iR3?

Or is it just a personal preference with regards to length?

Presumably a factor in this is the grade of paint you shoot - ie; how consistently sized it is..?

Matching your paint to barrel will give you slightly better accuracy but will increase the number of breaks you will get.

If you break you will obviously lose accuracy completely until your barrel is clean again.

No paint is perfect, alot of pro teams use loose bore barrels because at their level breaking paint at a bad time can cost their team the game.

The IR3 stock barrel is around 0.689, I would use something slightly looser.

Just not a freak!!!!

A lot of teams/players use barrel set's.

I have used the freak and powerlyte systems, and to be honest, never noticed a difference in accuracy. And had to keep changing the insert as the paint was never the same size bag to bag, never mind box to box.......my own conclusion was.....use a big insert and then i didnt have to change it every time i re potted.

So I now have a large bore stiffi. No complaints and no breaks!

As for dynasty....bet they only use the biggest insert.:p

had come to the 'biggest insert' conclusion myself - .695, right? Are the stainless ones built to a better tolerance?

When I look at the big insert in the back of my barrel, it's nowhere near central... I don't wanna change the actual barrel if I don't have to because I like the look and balance of it on my gun, but equally I don't want a whole heap of barrel bursts

just been back from a KOTH event and tried my freak in a game situation for the first time.

used some marbalizer we had left, and broke once or twice in a full hopper. the we got the evil out, and it didnt chop once, using the same insert (2nd biggest).

flew pretty straight, not 100% but then again no barrel kit can :D
