Right, well that's it then
Only Raehl sorta answered the question in a broad context in another thread (and nobody pays any attention to Chris anyway
) tho Steve-O answered it from a personal perspective.
I guess that means the rest of y'all are just flat embarrassed to admit you're all living vicariously off Pete's fading glories, Nexus national pride or you're favorite pro or pro team's latest exploits.
Anyway--
Here's a couple of reasons to care what happens in the alphabet and a couple of things you ought to be rooting for. Like it or not pball, in fact all sport, is top down driven and what happens at the top, particularly as pball is still forming and developing, will effect your future tourney experiences. Given that, two competing American leagues is so much superior to just one it's not even debatable. PSP want to control the whole thing just in case X doesn't work out they'll still dominant the series model they've already developed. Instead, if they must compete against another national series they will have to at least match the quality of offering a new, rejuvenated NPPL hopes to provide and then the players and teams will have the choice of which to play.
In addition, if and when X works out it won't remain a traveling road show and nobody who isn't a pro will be playing pros. Get used to it--that's the way it ought to be.
Just a note for the PSP boyz--look at the growth in teams participating in the last two years with damn near no encouragement from y'all. A little vision and committment to the growth of the sport instead of a desperate grab at retaining what y'all got this second will certainly see a larger, growing pie even if you have a slightly smaller piece of it. Just a thought.
