I've bought a flatline barrell for my tippy, not put it on yet.. I have read many comments on what people think about it good and bad.

I would like to have comments from players who have used it on a regular basis to tell me what they think of it and what tips they have got for using it and maintaing it. What is a good setting for bps (is that the right word) I've read from 250 upto 300.

FPS, Feet Per Second (How fast the ball leaves the barrel)

coz BPS is balls per a second (depends on how fast your hopper feeds, your bolt moves back and how fast your finger moves)

The limit is 300 FPS however due to reliability and the like you want to have it set lower 280 is what we set our Tippman 98's at site and they stay there abouts give or take 4-5 fps

Interested to hear your experience with the flat line - try and do a test of current range if you've got your standard barrel on and then maybe fire at a wall from a set distance and from a set height and then use the flatline coz it's supposed to have improved range and flatter projectory from the spin applied to the ball I'm interested to hear how much.

I do remember hearing a rumour when the flatlines were released, that they caused a higher percentage of bounces at their 'improved' range. Is this true, can anyone confirm or deny this?

One vote for confirming. If you hit somone with the slightest amount of clothing thinkness of padding or whatever, they are known to bounce somtimes. That is if you can even manage to hit them; I got my Flatline Sniper straight assembled from Tippmann themselves and the balls would always hook one way or another. Even when I was holding the marker straight up and the barrel was clean and everything. I personally don't like Flatline barrels from bad experiences.

Just out of curiosity, how easy is it to clean the flatline. I am assuming that straight shot squeegies don't work. Have tippmann brought out a special bendy shot squeegie to clean the flatline with???

well people i have tried my flatline and i love it. I had a few funny looks from some of the players when it was all put together as it is quite long but in the field (woods) it practacly out performed the other guns. It soon got respect. I played sup air with it but it is not really good for that, its ok if you play at back but any closer it is too long and being a tippy it does not have a good rate of fire. But in the woods its the dogs b#'#'#s.

I broke a few paintballs at the begining but noticed that the adapter was not fixed in the right position, once i put this right i never had another break. I fired about 1200 balls. To clean is easy all you do is pop off the side elbow push the squeegy down through and out of the barrell and bob's your uncle its clean.

I don't know what all the fuss is about really!!!!!!!!!!
