Not strictly true....release date is scheduled at some point between Nov 15th and 30th. But that date is for the United States, NOT for the UK and Europe, where there has no date been set as yet. The title is being published by 'Activision Value' and I wouldn't hold your breath for a release outside the US.... Here's their list of games so far

I haven't been bashing it since day one, merely providing an objective opinion against all the people who automatically assume just cos it's a game based on paintball that it'll be the best thing ever. That last comment wasn't even that, it was the cold hard truth that as yet a UK release date hasn't been confirmed and as yet there is no evidence indicating it will come out over here.

Personally, I can't see really what the fuss is about over this game. I was hoping for something a bit more original but from all the reports, comments, screen-shots and videos I've seen so far it doesn't seem much of an evolution over Digital Paintball or any of the other mods out there. DPB is fun but you try getting a non paintballer to play it, I tried it at a LAN bash once, didn't happen. I think there are many opportunity's missed that could have allowed this product to resonate better with the mass-market, which is were it should be aimed. I'll be buying a copy (assuming it comes out over here) and as will a lot of 'ballers, I just doubt that many non ballers will buy it... hence it's release on the rather specialised 'Value' label.

As for the comment about my own paintball game...... I've been working on it for the last few years and I was going to use it for my final year project at uni until i realised that the uni would then own the copy write. Since then a lack of time, money and talent have led to the design document gathering dust somewhat. So don't expect a release next year.

EDIT, ADDITIONAL: On the subject of importing a US copy; Xboxs do not have a region lock out. It is up to the publisher to make a game not work on a certain regional system, so in theory if the publishers wanted to they could make this game 'region free' to operate on international consoles. Although this option is available, few publishers have used it in the past but I guess there is a chance. Oh and on the NTSC/PAL comment.... not really an issue for most PAL Xbox users as I'm sure most of us run our systems in 60Hz mode anyway.
