I would have thought something along the lines of... no, not a chance, not in a million years, not even if you bought them a friendly pint down the local... because it's illegal, and anyone at planet giving a member of the public access to said firmware could be put away for a very long time.

Just bashing ideas around here, but would there be any merit in drilling holes in the hammer, like the rat-hole one for impulses?

Seems like a reasonable way to speed the cycle, as I imagine at high RoFs there is a fair bit of air being displaced in the lower tube.
