i use mountianbike shorts under my regular pants! they have padding in the right places with out binding you in the wrong places.....

Ive found that wearing a cup or whatever really restricts your movment, Try just baggy trowsers, so far ive been ok (touch wood....no not that)

Its not at all necessary, especially if your goggles are quite protective, but I might recommend a neck protector... I know rhino do them, cos I had to get hold of one for marshaling in... It's not at all pleasant being shot close range in the neck, especially if you're gonna be playing sup air, I have a scar from last august that just won't budge!!! You can get them for like a fiver or something from planet, and the plus side is they keep your neck warm in the winter! (Though get a bit sticky in the summer)
