Right - I searched and I checked the stickies but couldn't find much from them about my problem so I put up a new thread...
The problem is that my tank drops it's pressure (about 400psi a day) and by dunking it in a glass of water I found out there was a small leak coming from the thread of my fill nipple.
So I dumped all the air, used a wrench to unscrew the fill nipple, inspected the o-ring too, cleaned up the threads and used a healthy dab of Loctite 243 on the end of the thread to secure it back into place.
Now I thought this would seal and I would be good to go. I left it to cure for a few days, but when I picked it up I found the Loctite hadn't dried, and upon filling, the leak had gotten worse.
I've tried again with a larger amount of Loctite and a few days to cure, but alas the Loctite hasn't dried!
Am I doing the right thing? Is my Loctite bad? Is there a trick to it?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Paul
