Field for CL Bitburg?

Magued,

Unfortunately i have to disagree with you, i know firsthand that there were some teams practicing on the field at least 5 weeks prior to the tournament. The reason i know is that one of our players practiced on the field in person when he travelled to Europe for a pre tournament practice. The teams know who they are...

Kyle,

Thanks for the support, we had an amazing time over in Marseille and a HUGE thank you to all the Shock players, your support was fantastic and much appreciated by the team. While we really did enjoy the Powertrip game, watching you guys play was awesome, you are going to have a cracking MS in 2006 if you keep playing like that! Was great to practice with you in Dartford as well.

Reapers will hopefully be coming for the entire 2007 season to play Div 1 against the Kelly's and co, a really tough division with some fantastic teams but we will be a wild card hoping to throw the cat amongst the pigeons, watch this space! :)

Good luck for Germany, hopefully i will be there guesting for a team, there are one or two i am speaking to at the moment.

L8r...

This not the case with the CPL field! If someone told you that he is lying!

i personally think it is a joke that some teams are privvy to the field plans before others, even more of a joke that some teams are involved in designing the fields, dont tell me that they are not gaining an advantage over the other cpl teams. i really enjoyed marseille but the MS are in danger of undoing all the good work done there with this situation. is it any coincidence that the teams with reps on the field committee all performed exceptionally well in the M7.
I pretty much designed the field layout for Marseille. There were 4 designs we had to agree on, and the other three guys on the comittee agreed on mine, then Christian made an adjustment on two bunkers in the field layout. The field was agreed on about 2 days before it was released to the teams. As these were week days, NO TEAM(including my team) played on the field before it was made public.

MR G It was not even in the pipeline 5 weeks before the event, so that information is wholly incorrect. I can not account for why you have been told incorrect information, but what I have said is the truth.

As to why Menace, TonTon and Shock achieved good results in Marseille, I think that that is down to hard training and hard work. We have done more training in the last few months than ever before, we now have the backing to achieve great results (Dye and PMI). This accounts for why we did well in Marseille, not because I am on the field comittee.

The field for Germany was worked on last week. We all agreed it as soon as we got back from Marseille, and it was finalised on friday when it was sent out to all the teams. NO TEAM had the chance to play it before it was released to the CPL teams.

The CPL teams were given a chance to be on the comittee, but nobody wanted to be. Steve and Christian volunteered, and Robbo suggested I do it as well. It is difficult to fit into a busy day, and we do not get any payback for it.

It seems strange that none of the CPL teams are complaining. If there was even the slightest problem then one of the teams affected would raise an issue.....

wasn,t aware that the CPL teams were emailed the field once approved, and that voids my point,
Sam as a side issue would you agree that the M in the centre side on makes it very awkward to spectate the pit side of the field, thought marseille was good but i'm sure we were missing alot of the action in the teabags from the stands.

If Sam and Christan assure us all, they, or in fact anyone else has not played these fields prematurely then it is 100% the truth.
From my own experience of these two guys, they are men of their words.

Think about it like this; to keep it secret, they would need the total complicity of all players involved and trust me, that ain't gonna happen coz Kyle (Shockwave) would have to say something to someone, he just can't keep his mouth shut that kid.
It would be virtually impossible to keep a lid on this.

If Shockwave and / or Menace had been practicing on these fields unfairly and anybody found out, it would destroy the integrity of both teams and of the Millennium in one fell swoop and I would most certainly get to hear about it if they did, they just wouldn't risk their reps.

Good point from the spectators side!

Damn Sam and his snowdance.. This morning it was snowing in Oslo again, and it`s still about 1 meter of snow outside. Its gonna be a long time `til we get the advantage of practicing outside in Oslo:( probably when Campaign Cup is coming up, hehe..

I beleive the Millenium Board is creating a new rule that no CPL team is allowed to practice outdoors on a full size field before we have the same opportunity :D (O` s..t, it`s not the 1. of april anymore)

So much for the advantage!

As Magued said, i think it`s all about preparing for the tournament. For sure the French teams (and others) have had the possibility to practice outdoors for a long time already, and thats why i thought before the Marseille tournament that they would performe good. (on top of beeing good teams)

We have maid all our preparations in a small reball hall in Norway, and we also made a trip to the Russians that did us good. That weekend we did NOT practice the CPL field, but the last PSP X-ball field, wich the Russians played the week before we where there.
And we also 3 days before Marseille on a monday night rented an indoor tennisfield where we put up the CPL field, just to check the lanes & stuff, and make a gameplan. We could not, for some reason  play with paint. That night we where home at 3 o`clock in the morning, and went to work at 7 .. But it paid of!

Edit added:
When it comes to the M in the middle, i think that was up too discussion, but the MS board wants to have it in the middle, probably because of the concept of X-ball is the big obstacle in the middle. Another dicussion is if the M has the same function as the X, but that is another story. As far as i know, the M will stay in the middle.

Jeez :D

"The concept of X-Ball" is also electronic scoreboard, penalty boxes, longer matches, coaching onfield, etc.

Put the M on the far sideline, like in Bitburg and Paris lat year - it is a much better obstacle there than in the middle :)

The 'M' will always be in the middle of the field. As for which direction it faces, the MS said that they wanted it to be facing the spectators so that the bunker could be seen from the stands. From a marketing POV i can understand this.

Personally i would rather have it across the 50 length ways so that more lanes are blocked off and that the crowd can better see the other tape. From the pits you cannot see the snake tape well either.
