how would you get on with the blue (?) loctite? ie the semi permenant one, that way you could get it off easy enough should you want to and it would give you a little extra reassurance

When the bottle is tested, they not only test it for pressure, but the thread is also tested for wear and damage. So if the thread has loctite all over it then it will fail the test. You could run a tap through it to clear it out, but this will cause the thread to enlarge slightly, which may cause a problem.

CO2 valves take (I think) 35 foot-lbs to attach. HPA regs are probably supposed to be done the same. I use hand tight to reattach, and have never had any problem with regs wanting to unscrew with air in the tank. In any event, there is a vent hole for the HPA to exhaust through.

Yeah cheers guys, I see what you mean about the venting hole on the reg thread... Its extremely easy to take off with no air in it, spins really smoothly... I guess its just a case of trusting the gear, and keeping your eyes open...
