just wanna say well done to the Tigers, you guys done yourselves proud and played very very well. We thought we had you at half time to Gareth just shows you eh!

On another note I want to say that the refs on the EXL field were THE BEST REFFING TEAM IN THE WORLD!!! No ****, those guys were excellent esp the Yank ref from the the NXL he was awesome, so mad respect to those guys.

Thanks to everyone who cheered us all on, and for everyone's help over the weekend :)

they look like a really solid team. do they just get complacent wen they get a lead or are they just more suited to 7 man??

I think all of us on the team have been asking the same question you opened with and at the moment our results suggest we are a better 7 man team.
We certainly didn't get complacent against the Tigers; we just found it difficult to break them down after they readjusted their approach.
We got hit with a 5 min penalty which didn't help matters but this in no way should take anything from their performance overall, they played very well.

As soon as we match our XBall standard with our 7 Man standard, we will be fine. I'm afraid I have to take responsibility for the result against the Tigers in not being able to react quick enough with revised game plans, but hey, we all gotta learn XBall this season not just the players.

I even found myself cheering on Shockwave at this event making me think I was in some sort of parallel universe, they played real balls to the wall paintball and I'm sure it ain't gonna be long before they start putting it together with their new line up.
All in all, I think it was a pretty good showing for the Brits at this event with the Tigers heading the pack but believe me....I will be working on my shortfalls in the next month or so and if my next performance as a coach can anywhere near match the potential ability of my players then we are gonna start kicking some real ass.
The EXL is all about the Russkies winning and the rest of us scratching around for the crumbs, they are truly that far in front of everybody, a sobering thought but nevertheless true, and frikkin heck, what an opportunity for all us to learn.
Well done Tigers, Shock and most of all, to the Russkies !

Oh and I nearly forgot, the judging?
The best I have ever seen, truly, the best I have ever seen !!!!!!

As a (former) XBall cynic, I have to say that my mind is rapidly changing. Having only had last year's nation based league as a point of reference, I was not that impressed with XBall, I just thought it had some novelty value. What I saw over the weekend has changed my thinking though.

There was not a single team that did not play attractive paintball, though obviously there are some that are even more fun to watch than the others.
I guess everybody was well impressed with what the Legion had to show, but it made for very dull games.... You just stopped celebrating after the one millionth point for the Russians ;)

But as a spectator sport, this weekend's EXL show was good, some very tense games, that must have made some of the players at least 10 years older. I think Robbo has turned 156 this weekend. :p

Yeah but just think what's going to happen when they hit against Bobby's Boys, or Dynasty, or Infamous...

I think it's going to be some of the most interesting matches of paintball ever played!

Dynasty Vs. Legion could easily be a pay per view event.

I know for one i'd pay £10 for stadium seats.....Hell i'd even spend the extra £5 and get my self a slice of Pizza!

Is PSP chicago the first clash of the titans?

my view...

I made the trip over from the UK just to watch this weekends events and make my own mind up on the whole x-ball thing... I was expecting alot, and certainly got more than my moneys worth.

I don't think ANY teams played badly on the EXL field - you guys ALL rock. You're definitely at the pinnacle of European paintball, and are rapidly turning paintball into a truly exhilirating spectator sport!! As for the Russians... anyone who hasn't seen these guys play Xball, make the trip to the next one guys, it's definitely worth the effort.

On the subject of pay-per-view, I'd definitely pay real money to see the Legion up against any NXL tem, Lasoya's boys, or Dynasty (especially Dynasty).

Long Live X-Ball!!!
