evo 2 y board question

Just got an Evo 2
now the thing is it has a metal on off switch ( not the push button type)
Some one mentioned this as being the ones with the new y board , is this true?

i think so yes, my captain got one in Amsterdam, (he had to get a new one apparently, cos his other one didnt have a lid!)

i thought the y board ones were supposed to be faster. so far the new ones ive seen with the metal swicth have been tha same speend as the older push buttone ones

I wouldnt say it was quicker as in how many bps it can feed

but it no longer suffers from long delays between when there is a gap in the stack and when the paddle starts spinning.

Does anyone know for sure - I might be in luck

The new switch does explain why there are no on/off engraved in the shell (I never had one of the old ones to know any difference)...

yes Dark Warrior is correct, the evo2s with a metal switch do have a yboard. although, it says nothing on the package that says "with y board" or anything. i think that viewloader is stopping producing them without y boards (not sure though) so once all the olds ones have been bought, it will be all y boards. but before they are all bought it is kind of luck of the draw as to who gets a y board when you buy off the internet or buy from a store and dont look at the on/off switch. i lucked up and got one with a y board off ebay and didnt know it had a y board until it got to my house
