Last time I checked, it was good to have an opinion.
Here's me asking nicely, "Would you please, from now on when ever possible, back up any opinions you have about products? It makes it easier to understand where a persons opinion is based, and it makes it easier to understand what is being said. Thank you."
Things such as (not that you have, just as an example) People saying that cockers are a bitch to maintain even though they have never owned or worked on a cocker, really piss me off. It turns other people off from a product because one person bought something, didn't know the proper way to install it or use it, or what ever, then they go and tell 10 people at their field who have never had any experience with it that "Product XXYY Sucks ass" then those people tell 10 more people and so on and so forth. This forum is relatively Bull **** free ... for an internet paintball forum any way. So when some one Posts that a Product is monkey crap, I get a bit offended. Sure Product ZYXZ my really be Monkey crap, but if it is, please tell me why. That's all I'm asking.
If someone asked you, "which is better, Coke or Pepsi?" Sure, you could just answer the one you prefer. But What does the person really get out of that? That ONE person who chose to take the time to reply thinks that one is better than the other. What about the other 99,999+ people who didn't take the time to reply? How are those people represented? Now if you were to say, "I like coke better because Pepsi is too sweet for me," Now that is a constructive comment. UI hope that you see the difference.
Now about you taking a shot at the shocker, in the grand scheme of things, I really don't care. I don't use a shocker, no one I play with regularly uses a shocker I have no sponsorship ties to the shocker. It really doesn't affect me. But You were talking about the shockers from the mid to late '90s that had a problem with the filter getting clogged by dirty CO2. This was the cause of 99% of all non electronic problems. it also had some electronic issues such as battery life (the battery being drained excessively, and on top of that there was no on/off switch) But the shockers starting about the end of '99, came with an on/off switch, there shot efficiency was much better (causing less people to use co2 - main cause of problems to begin with) and the filters were replaced by much better heavier duty ones. Fixing most of the rest of the problems. So a person can currently go and pick up a shocker off the shelf gas it up and play with it worry free. Sure they still need to oil the bolt and put a drop or 2 of oil in the asa every so often, but there are few (if any) 'gins that one wouldn't have to do that.
So you had a bad experience with a shocker (Maybe a bunch of shockers, I don't know) a few years ago, and you continue to spread that sour experience to more and more people who would more than likely take your word for it unless someone takes the time to post a contrary opinion.
That's all I'm saying. Stop taking everything so personally.
