Etek vs Ego 05

Personaly E-tek (i've just bought one) shot one for 2 days at NQ & used to own an 05 ego.
Etek - Newer, better looking MY opinion. 06 detents, nicer trigger, SL oops and great reg milling. Lighter then 05.
Disadvantages - No LCD screen & thats about it

lol How does it compare to the ego 05? better? worse?I personally think the etek looks nicer and i have fired this once but never fired an ego 05
i've owned both marker's, and TBH you really cant tell the difference.
but having the microswitch on the Etek was better, not a fan of the optical switches.
Go with what you like the Look of, as both marker's will perfom as identical as each other. and you'd most probaly get a better value for money 05, as they go for peanuts compared to 6 months ago

The Ego 05 And Etek were never designed to compete with one another were they?
I mean, Eclipse introduced the Etek as a "Mid Level"-"Lower Budget" Marker.
(A cheaper Ego)
To do that, they had to compensate by using cheaper parts, such as no QEV's (which come stock on the ego's) but air barbs instead. The milling on the Etek isn't as advanced as the milling on the Ego range.
Don't get me wrong, i think the Eteks are AMAZING markers for the price they are at, and the substitute of cheaper/less parts on them really doesn't make a whole load of difference.
i just think it's weird now that people compare a Mid level/budget marker to a High level marker.
I've never owned an Etek, but have owned an Ego and shot an Etek on various occasions, but at the price both go for now, i would pick an Ego 05 over an Etek without a blink, simply because of the re-assurance that higher quality parts and a real solid "fanbase".
so yeah, my vote is the Ego 05... My 2p though lads
