£400 sheets will buy a very nice high end marker that would've cost the best part of a grand new. That would be my route - as for reliable, buy off someone you trust, or factor a full service by planet or dye into the budget and you're still better off than buying new IMHO.
If you want a marker which is phenomenally easy to maintain and want it to just shoot every time you pick it up stick with eclipse. Their customer service is second to none.
