I don't own an Ego (would like too!) I think that is Doog12. No worries I will take the ASA off and go down homebase/wickes etc and try a few... that's not going to look strange at all!
If it hadn't been that my ego was pretty much sold i would have posted out the knob to you for a loan till you sorted something out. As for a nut im pretty sure it would work fine. Try and get a hold of a dome nut it pretty much looks like the oops knob just aslong as it screws on far enough to push the pin in

Well been in wickes, homebase and B&Q and none had any with the right thread, I think it may be a 'special' thread by the look of it! Have to find a more specialist nut and bolt store.
Al take my gun to work tomorrow and see if i can work out what thread it is to help you out... Imagine itl be the same asa on my ego 7 as to whats on your etek?
Just had a look at a few pics online of Ego 7s and it looks like the same ASA as the etek! You are being very helpfull mate, can't thank you enough!
