Great footage. Love the targets round players and the "paintballs" showing where everyone is shooting, etc...

only thing i'm a little lost with is which season is this...??? and is it the quarter finals only (guess as there are only 8 teams  )
I believe its the Miami leg from last season, Commanders Cup? From the looks of it they're serialising the tournament, in this so called "Road to $50,000".

The Joy XSV footage was ace, agree with the comments on the format and the use of graphics, I'm looking forward to seeing what my non-baller mates make of it in terms of how easy it is to follow.

haha, ok still doesn't make any sense to me...but still great stuff to watch!!! you get the general idea of what's happening...i guess you dont have to know exactly what's going on in terms of which event it is...

cant see why that would make a difference, they have done an excellent job with the added graphics to explain even to someone who has never played before, very easy to understand and great detail....

Would be amazing for it to be interactive, if you could pick your own camera...now that would be cool

The biggest problem with televising paintball still is that you cannot see the paint in flight.

- It would make a world of difference to the viewer if you could.

the one4one.tv cameras manage to pick it up some of the time...but i didn't see it happening at all on the espn ones...

i agree, it would make it a little more obvious...and people would understand the kinda tactics used by the teams, a lil more...

It wouldn't for u.... but for non-paintballing spectators, it is hugely confusing to not be able to see the streams of paint.

I have long said a media company should try experimenting with white shelled paint and higher speed cameras.

For instance, when the camera pulls back to show a larger portion of the field, it would be a huge help to understanding the sport and tactics, if spectators were able to see where players are shooting.

totally agree ,but from a players perspective, I would love to be able to see the lanes that are being shot all through the game, you can work it out but due to the pace of the in game coverage (i.e cutting between camera shots and angles) when the camera does the overhead or distance shots it would give you an immediate understanding of the state of the field again and why moves were being made. etc

for some reason it seems unlikely that it will happen though.

Don't really see why?

All it takes is for manufacturers, media and promoters to work together - and have a bright shelled paint filmed on a dark background (dark bunkers and dark surface).

- it's not rocked science ;)
