The diassembly is easy and takes minutes to strip and clean. There are three push pins in total which basicly hold the marker together. One on the grip frame and two on the top frame. You can remove one push pin from the frame to swing the frame froward for a quick clean or remove two pins to give it a more thorough clean.

I've used the marker on three punter days and has never failed me. Shoots great from the box but even better with my rip clip and freak/night stick. (obviously)
I have noticed on one occasion whilst walking off the field that one of the push pins was half hanging out. (maybe it took a knock)

On the FT12 you can strip the valve without tools and this alone makes it a better rental. On the Slice you can't.
The FT12 is also cheaper

why is the trigger completely straight on the FT12

id go for the BT any day. only query on it is why does the bolt still have the hole for the pin in the side like on the other BTs... sppose was cheaper to just drill it for the pin for the slice than make completely new bolts

The tippman looks like their trying to make the marker look more sporty like the gryphon, unlike the bt-4 which looks like normal rental / basic markers you see on the market.

I have 250 ft-12's and they are flawless! genius in thier simplicity, a doddle to work on, will fire through anything and bomb proof!

if the bt copies are in line with other budget bt products like the bravo one, its going to be pot metal and cack.....

FT-12's primary issue so far: The airline becoming loose at the bottom of the grip causing it to not seal properly (a simple fix but annoying, may just require a little locktight). Also, new players quite often scratch their lens on the back of the gun, and the barrel hook is too small and easily slips off if knocked.

Personally I didn't find them that accurate (around 60 guns), but perhaps that is the barrel paint combo. The old A5's we had were much more accurate.

The upside of an FT-12.... cost and ease of maintenance. MUCH simpler to work on than an A5, and less to go wrong (no cyclones).

After working on many FT12's I have to say that their simplicity knows no bounds! To strip, clean, diagnose problems & fix said problems; because of it's sheer simplicity is almost a joy to work on. Now that's not to say that the BT Slice lacks in all the above areas, in fact they are just as simple to work on, from my experience.

The BT has some advantages in comparison to the FT; for example: the feed neck is faster to take off for the marker to have a pull through squeegee ran through, the barrel has some level of porting (always a bonus) & the ASA screws can be tightened without having to take the one grip off, which is the case with the FT12.

The FT12 on the other hand... is still a Tippmann. A by-word for durability in the paintball world. The body is easier to wipe down of paint and dirt due to the absence of any rail system.

However, both marker's are a viable choice for any field to run as their rental markers. All down to personal preference at the end of the day.
