oh bugger..sorry i did not see this thread sooner,,,,oh well,,,,i may just make a dye cutter to do the threads with,,, but i seem to think the ion thread for the feed neck is a doubal start.. that means it has to threads side by side that start at 180 degrees apart,,,

but i will look into this,,,and i may be able to work out a much cheaper way to do it,,, next,,if you got a new neck,,can you mark your old one,,and then can i borrow it...so i can see how long to make the new neck on the ion feed neck,,, if you see what i mean,,

I hope to get it out in one piece, I know they are notoriously hard to remove but I'm going to take my time. I will let you know and send you the old one ;)
If your Greenwich, I'm only round the corner in Stepney :)

I saw a brilliant method, the Boss Paintball chap did a video for YouTube.

19mm socket with a couple of layers of insulation tape and tighten the feedneck around it. Apply the ratchet driver and start to undo it. A hair dryer on a higher heat setting will help as Wildwayz said, add heat and it'll loosen up a little.

Same one I saw, its a good vid and I won't have to go looking for it now. Cheers ;)
Can you believe it I payed over £40 to a guy in the US (told him I was in UK) and he wants more for postage, for a feedneck!

im off to france next week,, but i will get into this when i get back,,,, and like the chaps say..give it some heat,, a hair dyer will not make the grade..
if you dont want to use a naked flame use a paint striper gun,,it like a hair dyer but on steriods,,,,

if you dont get the heat right you wont break the locktight on the threads,,and when you undo it,,your take the threads out with it,,,

you have been warned,,,

what im thinking here is to cut down a ion feed neck and then rethread it,,, but im still trying to find who i used to get my low profile feeds off,, or who made them for me,,
rethreading a old feed neck,,would be a much cheaper option,,

Well managed to get the old one off with a combination of methods, heated it up for a few seconds on both sides with a small gas torch. Then with a socket in the feedneck put it in my little vice and gave it a turn, tape and wrench just turned in the neck. A nerve racking experience but worth it, gommie404 the old one is all yours.:)

In terms of wanted, all done here!
