Electrical Tape on fill nipple sold as new!

hi boys and girls,
at the moment i am very angry. why you ask? because i bought an pmi 3000 psi 48cu air system off a retailer brand new and have been using it since october (very occasionally) and at a walkon on monday i found out when my bottle started to leak that my fill nipple thread was covered with electrical tape and not high density PTFE tape. i didn't want to mention the name the retailer untill i ring him and se whats gone wrong. my question i ask is i don't have a reciept still and i can't get the bank statement from october on the card, also i have fixed the problem. anyways will i be able to get a refund, even though my only proof of this happening is the 15 odd people (including site the manager and a dye tech) who i showed and told?

As bad as that is, it's not exactly difficult/expensive to fix.

i know i fixed it
but the problem is that it was sold from a online shop as a new product. there was a chance of it blowing off

are you 100% sure it was electrical tape , as i know there are certain coated teflon tapes that have the same look.?

you can get black color thread tape, might be that?

anyway, I think there was more risk of it just being leaky than blowing off, if it was electical tape. As long as it was screwed in right.

my fill nipple has nothing on its theads its just screwed in i did not do this one of the bz lads did and has been fine up to now

doubt it buddy, probably has sealant pre applied to it from the factory

What was the make of the bottle/system?

PMI is the make and my site manager said it was electrical tape and i saw and felt it, it might have been the teflon coated stuff but it was a lto like electrical tape. might be wrong though
