Sounds to me like the In-Line adjuster piston is damaged, look to see if there is a little black plastic bit in the top of it, if it's not, or is loose/damaged then there is you problem!!

Might be worth checking that all the bevell springs are in the right way as well, and lubed up................... Also un-wind the In-line adjuster screw and check that there is two o-rings on there!!


But what would i know? I only build them for a living

Rockford - two of us have suggested that's the Inline Reg Piston Seal - have you checked it yet?

skeet, the piston in the star reg is the same one in the standard reg.

Well...mine has a dished face, where as others have flat face.

Well..its on the gun at teh mo...and not too sure how easy a pic would be to get...but...from what I have seen...teh top of a piston is flat with a hole in...mine is flat, with a hole in, but...teh hole is chamfered out, about 7-8mm across the hole.
Came out of an XSV.
