does anyone have a lucky valve? whats your opinion on it? does it really work as well as quoted? would it be especially useful in soggy manchester, since all the paint will get frozen? exaggerating ofc :D
As with skeet i'm waiting for my lucky valve, tracking reports it left the states on 4th so should be here and day now :D

The people that have received theirs in the states are reporting a minor improvment by adding the valve but much bigger improvment with a lighter rammer (it's just that there is nobody producing lighter rammers yet).

woah! that does look good :D im liking the matched blue detail on the grip too, sets it off nicely!

i see quite a few people whove got CCU kits and things which dont set off too nicely, but im sure you dont need me to tell ya you hit it right :)

just to clear it up...microswitch? optical switch? guessing ones a magnet and ones a spring?

id probably leave the barrel until after the others, since im only gonna be shooting crap paint while i learn anyway, fastest way to learn is to make mistakes right? :)

Mine has been completely re annodised (coloured) to my spec, by Slothball.
There are no XSV Ego's made in that colour.
Its a dust finish, but the Logos, eg Sheild E logo etc have all been polished so they show up against the dust finish, also had a full pepper stick set done, all in teh blue dust apart from teh long gold front...has a Virtue Inside etc...rips and looks good while its doing it.

A Microswitch has a small metal lever, that teh trigger presses into a small switch...and optical switch, doesnt toush anything, so there is no "feel" with it at all, unless you use magnets and or springs etc...teh trigger has a tab on it, that passes through a beam of light in teh switch which activates it.

Some sort of barrel kit, even if its an old Freak, and a couple of inserts, is a good idea, or just get a full kit...if your paint doesnt match your barrel, you wont hit much.

As for paint...Blaze is pretty good and is only around £30 a box...as is Proto Paint, so its not "Expensive".

Yeah...with teh Lucky Valve, if it means teh bolt hits teh paint softer, its less likely to fracture it...what happens, a lot of times with barrel breaks, is either, your loader pushes too hard on a fragile ball, cracks it tehn when it is fired, teh blast blows teh ball apart...or...teh bolt hitting it can do teh same, or add to the problem...thats why you sometimes see paint breaking in mid air just infront of teh barrel.

looks like i wont buy the air assist valve until they bring out a useable ram. dunno if ill really need it though!

Also, who really uses drop forwards? it just seems like something to waste your money on, unless you have HUGE hands, they dont make you play tighter and im sure a shorter barrel would probably do just as well.

Drop's were a trend, which most people seem to have turned away from now.
They can be useful in some situations but generally not.
A very small drop, liek teh CP Micro Drop is OK.

Barrel length depends on where you play really...12 is fine for front players, but 14 is about right for backs.

What teh Lucky Air Assist does...is uses some air, to help teh rammer open teh valve...it still has 300psi or whantever, sitting behind it...but...teh diverted air, means its much easier for teh rammer to open teh valve...therefore, LPR pressure can be lower, which uses less air and gives less kick, and also means teh bolt hits teh paint much more softly...this is a very good thing. and also its potentially more efficient.
I havent got my hands on one just yet, but I will be shortly.
im suprised i beat you to this one skeet.

if you use this you have to be prepared to "tinker" alot to get the desired results, i am using a delrin pin with a 3inch stock bolt(modded by me :D) so the moving mass is very light, too light for a stock valve, using this setup with the luck valve allows me to run the lpr at 70psi with no probs at all

as for performance ups, there isnt many, board, frm(for comfort), aa valve^, bolt. the rest is cosmetic and aesthetics
