I feel obliged to stand up for the good old Timmy. I have five of them and one of my freinds has an XSV Ego which he keeps at my house so i've messed around with both markers a fair bit.

While i have to say that the Ego is far lighter than the alias (ND has same frame and the like from what i remember) there is no performance difference to speak of and the weight difference did nothing but annoy me. I think that there is a point when a marker feels too light. (The Ion and EGO have both crossed that boundry)

In addition i feel compelled to refute the myth that Timmy's are unreliable becouse in my experience its simply untrue. Like i said i have five of them many of them are second hand and they've seen a fair bit of use. (Ie. two of them are battered to hell)
Yet they all still work wonderfully.

Looks wise the Timmy wins every time. While the milling on the XSV is quite nice and looks good at a distance. Up close the the rubber grip on the Ego is appaling and ruins the whole look of the marker. (Unless my mate got a shonky one which isn't like the rest.)

Regardless, i have to be fair. It all boils down to personal preference both the Timmy and Ego are very good markers with a lot going for them.

My suggestion would be to try to get your hands on one of each and have a go with them. See which one you like and don't look back.

I'll shut up now :)
