a question for anyone who knows- would a Halo motor work in the egg- is it any faster?
thx
There are various other servo motors that will fit the egg that are available for various industrial purposes..

i did some research into that some time ago, found that control motor servos for some indutrial robot purposes were rated simmilary to the Egg's in both power consumption and voltage.

However, if there too fast they will drain your batts too quick and also may have too much inertial force when you stop firing and crush a ball or 2..

if i can find the links i will post em..

If you have clear shells then the world is your oyster on the style front
You'll need to find polycarbonate model paint and paint the insides, anything can be done if you have the imagination or simply you can colour code to your gun

Or someone else's better attempt

As for reliable performance?

God if only i knew !
Any luck yet Rosie?
:D

im guessing its polycarbonate paint as it bonds to the plastic try this website:

http://www.fusionhobbies.com/parts/paint.htm

theres brush on or spray paint, if your doing your loader id recomend the spray paint

ive done my goggles with it

Not really possible unfortunately, the egg uses a 360' servo, that looks something like this==> http://www.singahobby.com/images/Futaba/S3010 servo.jpg
and the halo uses a motor like you would find in a small handheld fan or something.

i did some servo moddage to my egg a while back but it involved taking the servo itself apart, and replacing the motor inside the current servo, which is very fiddly, there are millions of little gears inside them
wasnt really worth doing either cus it litteraly ate up the batteries and didnt improve the feedrate much. :(
