wherever my job takes me
Just bought an Eclipse Impulse Vision from Planet.

Very very impressed.
Put a couple of hundred paintballs through it last night in the back garden (to the neighbours horror). It's absolutely wild!

Fastest thing I've ever fired, it remains really stable too. Used to my Cocker, so this sort of thing is really refreshing.

Looks the dogs plums too in Cobolt Blue.

Noticed a slight problem though, despite the Vision Eye preventing chopped balls, I still had TWO BARREL BURSTS. I'm very surprised about this as the paint I was using wasn't brittle, the gun is very low pressure, and I was using a Freak insert that was just right. So....The eye works a treat... But for some reason the gun itself blowing the **** out of my paint once it was in the breech!!!???

Has anyone else come across this problem??? I'll try some more paint this weekend and reveal all ASAP.

Luke.

Not yet, will do next weekend. I'm marshaling in Congleton on the 7th.

However I'd have expected the guys at Planet to have set the gun almost exactly. I say this because the insert they provided is a perfect fit with the paint.

Cheers.

Impulse

Although my Impulse does not have the Vision I too sufer from this problem occaisionally and the only thing I can put it down to is the Freak System, my gun runs at around 175-180 but occaisionally I still et barrel bursts.

I must admit I have taken to using slightly bigger inserts than required because whilst you might check 10-15 balls to get the right size, depending on how fresh the paint is and how well its been stored you always get the occaisional odd shaped one which of course wont go through the barrel.

If anyone else has a solution I would be graeful for enlughtenment also.

thanks

i think everyone suffers from this problem and i dont think that there is a lot u can do about it :( as Davo said not all the paint will be the right size so you could use a bigger insert but you may loose accuracy as a result.

I'm running it on Co2 for a while, It's anti-syphoned. Could using Co2 cause a problem with ball breaks?

Has anyone had this ball-break problem with a boomstick?

I never had this prob using my cocker with either a boomstick or a freak!

New update!

The Co2 tank I was using was set up for my cocker. When screwed into the Impulse the syphon tube ended up mis-aligned. Big DOHH!!!

Well, good news. I've bee using a cocker with a 16" Boomstick SEE CLASSIFIEDS) for about 2 yrs now. This Impulse has a 14" Freak on it and....... wait for it.......... It's just as accurate.

So, firepower of Angel + Accuracy of cocker. Hmmm, not bad eh.

VW's are the game
You know it is a funny thing you say that because I fired Ross's (Rushers) Impulse at Angel Cup and was pleased at how FAST and Accurate it was. I have been a real big fan of the Angel since I bought it and I still want to give the Impulse a go but love the looks of my C&C versus the Impluse. Who knows some day someone may offer me the right stuff to take my C&C for their Vision Impluse. :D

About the freak.

I know what you mean, i used my stock progressive barrell for months and only experienced a few bursts. I put my new freak on this weekend, and was chopping balls left right and centre until i put the largest bore in. If the paintballs arent 99% perfect they will occasionaly get stuck, or slowed down.

not that this maters to me now as my impulse is very, very broken :(
