Dunno if this is the right section but hey...I'm sure i'll get busted if its not:D

Got the opportunity to buy one of these ^^^^^^^^ today from a work colleague who had it lying around his house. He doesnt play and bought it from a car boot a few years ago. I think its a eclipse automag as thats what it has written down the side and it looks like its also done in a splash anno.
I have taken piccies on my phone but untill the missus gets home I cant put em on me p.c to show ya all. Did a quick google and found one similar on fleabay u.s.a and have copied pics for now so ya can see what i'm on about.

What I really would like to know is whats the going rate for one of these before I spend my hard earned:confused: or is it not worth investing in:confused:

Someone out there must know a bit about these gats.

Peace
-ChEf

Edit:
Forgot to mention, the gat in question also has a extra 'mini' c02 bottle that sits in the same place as the front reg, this is also done in the same splash anno as the rest of the gat (did that make sense lol) my make reckons its a reserve tank?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

The Eclipse Mag came out in the early 90's.

Its worth looking at and even if it hasn't been used for years, a couple of drops of oil in the right places should bring it to life and if not you can still get spares for them, which would usually be o-rings.

The Don, on here is the mag man.

Its fairly rare, being a custom house jobbie, so...gotta be worth £80-£100 but see what you can get it for....he may not have paid anywhere near that, so...start at £50 and see what he says.

Still a good reliable semi, obviously isn't going to compete speed wise, but will still do the damage.

Looking at the Reg part of the valve, it looks like it has been Pro Maged, by the number of holes around it, so its likely a Level 7 and you could get a Level 10 kit for it is you wanted as well as one of the later on/off's to improve trigger response.

Has a double trigger which helps.

I would buy if you like it.

EDIT: It was probably bought and run on Co2...the small 3.5oz tank is an Anti Syphon AKA Liquid Trap, to stop liquid Co2 entering the gun and freezing it up.

It looks like this one has been set to run on Air, as they were designed to be.

I'm not gonna lie about it.....I'll only buy it off him to sell it on:D

It does look darn funky but a little retro for me. The anno is pretty good but has a few chips on the top of the marker. I have been told it works fine. Hes bringing it to the colseley urban indoor with me on wednesday to give it a run out....should put those 07's to shame :p

Yeah...the piccie in my thread does look like its on air, but the gat I had a dabble with today (V.similar) was deffo not set up for air. Had a c02 bottle on it aswell as the little one I mentioned.
I took loads of piccies on my phone and will host em up as soon as I can bluetooth em to my womans phone and put em on my p.c (lost my p.c cables:rolleyes:) .

thanks for your advice so far;)

They might be worth a bit more to a woodsballer but not Sup-Air as it wouldnt keep up. I have one that I will never use as its worth more to me in sentimental value. The mag was my first proper marker many moons ago.
I expect you would probably get around £40-£80 for it :)

Didnt think it would be of much value to actually play with, was thinking along the lines of a collectors item, as to be fair...thats what it looks like:D
(although I gotta say the anno looks wicked)

I figure that even though this site is mainly sup air based, theres a fair few old skool players out there and thats the general reason for this thread. To see if it is of any value to anybody and to also find out a little paintball history along the way:).

Old skool cool FTW

P.S I'm old enough just not been playing long enough;)

Lol!
It was all about cockers and mags back in the day mate. In my mind the Ally frame ones were better than the later plastic ones but they were still awesome gats. The anno is the ECLIPSE splash that the guys went into big time, Im just waiting for the re-runs on "splash anno" as I am sure they will sell loads :)

Ps. Paintball lizard is a mag king so might be worth giving him a shout :)

See, I missed the mag bit:( My first gat was a cocker)

I've also heard a few people mention splash anno's coming back aswell. Was it not one of the ironmen that was rocking one or two last year on there DM's?
Thats what made me think that this particular gat was a bit old skool as I remember reading about the re-emergance of the splash anno, but only on the 'fresh markers of today':)
So to see it on what can only be described as a 'dinosaur' of a paintball mowing machine...got me thinking. I'm so gonna have to buy it now:)

And probably not to sell on the more I think about it. A proper piece of paintball history methinks.

True, yet not true... It'd have to have something special about it to be a collector's item. Still nice tho, and I will keep an eye out for it in classifieds....
