It is absolutely shocking that ebay will not let you sell a paintball marker because of their gun policy in the UK. But they are happy and dont control the sale of HPA/ CO2 or any other air bottle, where the consequences of these bottle's failing could cause more serious injury or even death.
It is only the diligence of the more experienced player looking at ebay that stops something more serious happening.

welcome to the health and safety aspect of ebay..... non-existant unless it resembles a firearm

I'm not sure if my report had any effect

But the listing either got pulled by ebay or the buyer closed auction early for some reason

As in my post above, he closed the auction (EBay remove them if they act) and re-listed it without the regulator

He will have received a lot of messages from what I've seen on the forums

Theres nothing wrong with co2 in fibre wrap bottles as long as its labelled as such. The industrial co2 at work now comes in fibre wrap admittedly we use pin index valves so they cant be connected to the wrong manifold. Back in the day we used to run shockers (shoe box) on co2 with 1.9 fibre wrap bottles as the efficiency was pants. Freezing down the valve and having it stick to your wrist was not fun, neither was team mate offering to pee on it to warm it up.

I remember getting planet to put a CO2 valve on a 1.9 air bottle for a shoebox, you could get about 40oz in them! I found a place that does 8ci air bottles recently (steel ones) and was thinking about putting a CO2 valve on to have a bottle about the size of the old 3.5oz ones with a PI mark on it but was struggling to find out if a bottle tested for air is deemed safe for CO2 or if there are different test, I imagine the safety test is just a pressure one so it should be safe since CO2 only peaks at 1800psi? and the bottle will be tested to 3000psi.

wasn't there someone on here a couple of years back who bought a hpa bottle off of ebay (in test) when he went to swap the regs out for one of his own, he found that the person before had stripped thread and had been "fixed" with tin foil!!
