Here's a post i put on the impulse owners group, where the hoards of SP fanboys are spooging over the news thinking it is the best thing ever. Always good to have a counter rant and try a incite a flame war

Personally, I think this is bad news. The main reason Dynasty changed was money, simple as that. SP offered them a HUGE deal which WDP couldnt match, or at least chose not to. It is more evidence of SP bullying their way around the industy, gradually becoming the Micro$oft of the scene. Its rather clear to me that it is SPs eventual goal to have a monopoly on the business and control as much as they can get away with
As much as i like the look and feel of the new shocker, the quality of build isnt even close to that of the A4, its not even in the same league. WDP have a well established brand image the brings to mind good worksmanship, great design and a certain degree of sexyness. Id say this was down to the company being English (yay) but it is mainly due to to some very skilled marketing and a fantastic brand image. This image was very appropiate for dynasty as it always insinuated a certain level of aspirational coolness that said 'we are a class above the rest'. Which of course, if you have seen them play a lot you can see just how much better they are than ANY other team.
SP on the other hand in my opinion apears a great deal more crass and well...... naff. An example of this is the recent, rather tacky 'smart girls' campaign, that seems to be directly orientated towards teenage boys and not a broader market. The newer 'star' marketing campaign does seem like a refreshing step in the right direction.
Yeah the Angel is expensive, but it is the best off the shelf marker there is, requiring 0 upgrades and no fideling to make it one of the top markers out there (amoung the E-Blade, Timmy and custom Impy). You get a bit more with a marker from WDP, great technical support, a fantastic manual and not having to faff around with it (too much) to get it the high tourney level.
I think that SP are going to have to pull to stops out with dynasty and treat them REALLY well, beacuse otherwise i can see them missing the service they got from WDP for the last few years.
PS. I'll say now i am NOT an angel freak. I am just observing the situation objectivly. Remeber kids just how important WDP have been bringing paintball to the public with the Super 7s amoung other things.
