I think given that chip in it as it's carbon fibre you might find, it won't pass a hydro test. But don't quote me on that 110%.

Hey man,

Given that before I'd use this (place an explosive cylinder with a potential flaw next to my face ) I'd want to send it away for a hydro test and inspection.

Lips do them at £34.99 plus postage (£10, estimate) I believe. So if you knock this off the cost of a second hand bottle £80-90, you're looking at around £45 net value.

Now I could end up with a great bottle, but then again I could be told its not safe to use. With this considered its quite a punt.

I'm tempted to make you an offer but it would be lower than what you're asking. Just thought I'd present my rationale first.

Well if I offer you £25 and it passes. I've got a GA bottle for £6, bargain! If it fails, I've lost £60.

So I'm happy to take a risk, but it needs to be a calculated one. Not trying to rob yoi.

After talking to lips about the bottle. I think I'm going to take it to get looked at before I sell it.
He said a chip in the outer coating is ok as long as there is no damage to the fibres under it. The fibers look fine to me but I'm going to take his advise and take it to get looked at properly.

Had a chat with a friend of mine who is very up on the bottle knowledge and he suggested to get it to hpac and get them to test it as the chip is that deep, you might well find the bottle is worthless. But at least your doing the right thing first pal and getting it checked, safety comes first with high pressure bottles!
