They're really really really hard to change- takes so long I wouldn't chance changing them between games

If you can avoid taking it apart then don't

I heard that it's possible to get water inbetween the two layers of the lense & then they are majorly fcuked & you'll have to replace 'em

Ps my internet blocker at college is blocking PBN so I can't see that thread @ the mo so if mine's worse it isn't my fault :D

but basically the way I do it is
  • unclip strap & take off
  • separate the lense thing (transparent coloured plastic) and the chin piece (generally black), look for the tabs & pull the face piece out from the lense thing, starting at one end. NB- it's quite hard to break so just wrench them apart if you have trouble
  • next is more difficult, you should now have your lense with the lense surround stuck on quite tightly. Get the top tab of the lense & push the plastic off the back of the tab. If it's too hard I generally use something to push it off like a screwdriver.
  • after you've taken off this top tab, it's easier to pull off the rest just going around the sides
  • if in doubt, use brute force
note that putting it back together is the hardest bit :(
  • clean it using tissue & a dry duster
  • put lense surround on first, starting with the bottom of the lense. if you get stuck use some WD40 or water on the tabs
  • put face mask back on, starting with the tab on the nose
  • if you're having trouble, try taking the lense out again, & connecting the lense surround to the face mask, then putting the lense in after
  • put strap back on

any help?

I generally carry about 2 lenses but there isn't much point they're hard as nails & are unlikely to crack
& it takes ages to change them I wouldn't chance it during a playing day

however they're the best goggles I've ever used so inconvenience aside I like them :)

cheers Rosie. Yeh that sounds like the way i was trying it... And yeh, since i was having trouble getting it apart, i didnt want to go throo puttin it all together again koz think i read sumwhere else it's hardest puttin them bak together. The pbnation dude sez washin up liquid insted of WD40,just so u know :) . But i never got that far...

will use ur added advice to try again later, ta!

Yeh, i'm thinkin maybe just get the outside bit wet might be ok... all i'm wantin to do is get all the paint gunk n bits of shell out the surround... annoyin it gets there in the 1st place, but there we go.

Further to Rosie's post, I suspect Dye would suggest not using a screwdriver in case of damage to the structural integrity of the lens. I also guess they would have a downer on WD40 or indeed anything other than the recommended goggle spray.

Rather than the screwdriver, I always used a tea towel to save my precious opposable thumbs (I have Profilers myself, but love is - making sure your girlfriend never has to clean her own goggles. well, love was that - in the end I told her it was me or the Invisions ;) - now she has Profilers too :D)

Mikey, I know this has been covered in other threads but your sig does make reading threads like this a very wearing experience!
