Right, i'm new to this game... Got set of Invision goggles. Got loads of paint in the bottom bit of the frame... First, is there any point in goin to all the effort to clean it out? And second, am I bein stoopid or is the lense REALLY hard to get out?? I dont wana break it... Any advice???

Its fine to get the frame wet.. i normaly take a cotton bud to them. I dont think getting the actual lens wet is a good idea though... it will kill the thermalness... (yes i know its not a real word :) )

If the manual says don't, then I'd advise you probably not to. Never know, you could bugger it up more mate. I think part of the reason for them saying not to get them soaking is that the lenses are coated and putting them in water could take that off.

Dunno if it does, as I've not done it. Might just be best to try and get the lens out and clean it as per the manual. Shortcuts tend to bugger things up. Just my 2p worth. Good luck! (let me know how you get on, just got a new set of I3's and will be interested how it goes)

yeh, going for the dry option 1st... the pbnation thread's really good. I know what to do now. Ignore the manual's instructions they make no sense! I do have really sore fingers now tho, and still aint got it off, but gettin there. Maybe...

when I used to own a pair of profilers I used to just plonk the lense in hot water and then let it dry by iteslf when they were covered in paint and they have never ever fogged up on me did it for about 4 months and then just got a new lense

Yep I used to do something similar with my profilers, but the Invisions are different as they are 'thermal lenses'. What that means, well best look at the book!
