An electro-Spyder versus an old Mechanical-style cocker??
Spyder all the way! Spyder's can be upgraded well and easily to change the characteristics of the marker and YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF, even if you don't have a techie-oriented mind.
A cocker is a beast of a thing to muck about with and there is a lot to go wrong. They are not easy to diagnose and inevitably end up being shipped off for repairs or services
E-Spyders are fast, Mechanical autocockers aren't, and an e-frame is going to cost you almost as much as most of the E-spyders or clones. alright if you're swimming in cash, not so good if you're not.
And i'm not sure why jack makes the distinction, but Spyders run on Co2 or Air also.
My Spyder doesn't chop if fed by a good hopper and we use brittle paint at the Brewery Site more often than not.
The only realy advantage of a mech cocker over a Spyder is (and it's debatable, always will be) accuracy. Supposedly closed bolt markers are more accurate...but as I say, opinions are divided.
If you're a newbie, I would say that a cocker is not for you, but that's just my opinion, I looked at one when starting out, got a lot of opinions and eventually was constructively persuaded to take up the Spyder. It's all up to how you feel with it I guess.
