so what mechanically seperates the auto-cockers and everything else. Is a older cocker without an e trigger a better gun than a new spyder with a e trigger?

if youre asking "should i buy a spyder or an old cocker"

then i would advise you to buy a cocker, and so would most people with any sense !

the reason for this being that you can upgrade a cocker to your hearts content and it will still perform brilliantly without the upgrades.

old cockers will also quite happily run on co2.

my spyder sport and e99 both chopped paint like hell.

my cocker doesnt seem to do that. could be because it has an anti chop eye but there you go, just proves my point about upgrades. there isnt many features that you cant get for a cocker that are on other paintball markers that are useful.

A cocker with an electro frame can shoot 22bps with the eye turned on. i would be surprised if any spyder could even come halfway near that considering mine chopped at fully auto at 13 bps.

my 2cents.

Hes already got a spyder n is getting a cocker. The short answer to that would be yeah-imo. Cockers mechanically are automatic-pumps.When you pump a pump gun you cock it, a cocker does that automatically. Someone else can explain how a cocker works better cos i aint 2 hot on that subject :D

Same as any semi....!!!!!!

Only difference to pump and semi internals is that the mechanical parts (trigger solenoids, valves, etc.....) are now electronically operated.

The air still has to 'flow' the same.

all a cocker really does is to replace the pump handle with a ram and a 3 way, the 3 way is to direct the air to operate the ram, and the ram does the pumping!
