If you can't afford decent paint, don't try and upgraded any marker. What's the point having an expensive upgraded marker if you can't afford to shoot it.

Decent paint with a barrel kit will work wonders

Decent paint for me usually costs about £30-£35 per 2000 so not that expensive
What would you consider decent paint then? As £30 for 2000 is an alright price, it's what I paid for Empire heat at a walk on on Sunday....

Decent paint is a trail and error thing. How was the empire heat for you? Did it fly in the same way all the time or was each shot different from the last?

Draxus bronze and frostbite are very good for me

All last year I was using sterling claymore and that was amazing.

I used FS paint at UWL this year and that was one of the best paint I've ever used and it was only £23 but the paint was very small 0.679 was the bore and luckily I have a barrel kit on me that went that low.

But almost all the time you pay for what you get. I'd always buy the mid to high option that's on offer if your spend £100-£200 for a weekend paintballing you might aswell pay and extra £5-£10 for better paint and have a better weekend

Some guns hit the balls a little bit harder than others, that so at the moment most NEW guns hit the balls that little bit softer but still keeping the power for the balls to travel , and in turn not wasting air, however there are guns out there that are fantastic value for the money like the Planet Eclipse Etha, now this hits the balls a little bit harder and was designed for the Woods, Woodsball guns usually hit the balls that little bit harder hence the balls having a slightly harder shell so it allows them to get through bramble and foliage, these Paintballs are of the Cheaper Price, Now if you have a ( what I call a Pro Gun ) more or less up to date Tournament gun , then you will buy a dearer paint that will guarantee a splat when you hit a person, you see my friend your trying to eliminate the bounce factor and know your going to get a kill every time it hits them, these balls you can just put out your arm and drop them and they will splat, the others for the woods, you will need to throw them. and for this you pay accordingly.

The Empire heat flew in all directions for me, but that was probably me, and that I was using a site hire marker! I guess I will just have to experiment a little bit, once I got my own marker and see what works well for me! And thats a good point Garideon, what is a couple of quid extra over a day, or a weekend. Not alot, and if you get a better game because of it, then it's worth it!

every marker can get upgraded but then you have to look at cost mate, sometimes you can afford a new gun instead of upgrading your old one lol
