When i went to Huntigdon and Frisco we didnt need a visas to get in tha states but Copsey rekons i need a visa now,does anyone know fo sho?

No visa needed, just the greencard you have to fill out in the plane.

Then again, it does make sense to do some prior screening on you dodgy Britishers...

Dave is right it is changing, but it isn't a VISA.

The septics are putting in the US-VISIT programme, which is being amended slightly for all of us green card filling in friends.

You still fill your card in as normal, but when you get to the immigration each time they will take your picture (you've probably seen the webcam type things already), and scan 2 fingerprints. At some point in the future they will also scan you on the way out to make sure you leave.

From 1 October 2003 everyone, including children, travelling to the USA under the VWP must have their own machine-readable passport. Anyone without their own machine-readable passport, including children who are currently on a parent's passport, will need a visa to travel to the USA.

Not to be a stickler but it's only 1984 when the gummint starts monitoring and regulating the movement of citizens (which, of course, is gonna take a little longer.) Y'all don't count. Besides, just like gun control it's much easier for the federal monolith to regulate law-abiding peeps than anyone with bad intentions--who, oddly enough, tend to ignore or circumvent the law.

No, if you're coming over with the intent to do bad things the recently added measures will move you to fly to Canada or Mexico so you can drive across the border more or less at will or else arrive by boat. Or, if you can pass as a poor campesino border patrol will give you directions to the nearest barrio and help enroll your kids in school.
