Do you need any more of a reason to lose that drop forward?

I mean, I've been a fan of the rail for a while and its pictures like this that make me thank the stars I got rid of that drop. Awful things. What do drops do?

Common answers are

they make the gun tighter!

it balances the gun by making the bottle sit under the trigger.

I've done it since woodland so it must work.

just looks awkward to me.

Give us something to talk about on Rainy wednesdays when we should be working???? :D

I use a short drop out of habit more than anything really, quite happy playing with or without. Doesn't make much difference when I seem to have spent most of my last 3 tourneys hiding behind stupidly small bunkers taking paint from 3 people!!!! :)

Unless you plan on using a 114 tank there is no reason to use a drop forward. Try and shoot a real hand gun with a bent wrist and you will end up with a broken face. A drop forward is not designed to set your gun up so the gun becomes a turret on the side of your head. You are not the Borg, You are not trying to join the f&*%n collective.

When i bought my ir3 (prototype number 23 :) ) it came with a screw in mounted on a lady drop forward. It meant my wrist had to go all the way round my bottle which was V. awkward.

I ordered a CP Pro rail for planet, but they were out of stock so i tried a micro drop. It was better but not quite what i was after so the nice people at planet let me exchange it for CP Pro rail that are now back in stock. It should be arriving any time now.:)

that is a mint quote!! Like it! Makes me laugh when people say, my drop makes my gun soooo comfy and then they do the camp swan pose.

:) :p

Given the quote I wonder why the retail version of the Dynasty Shocker comes standard with a drop forward (it's a stubby)

Maybe to compensate for the lowness of the shocker, as compared to the angels they've been using for years?

Or maybe it helps justify the price?
