Do Tippmann/Us Army Scope and Reddots work?

My advice would be to not spend any money just yet.

Get yourself along to an event where there is a massive trade presense. Most of these see traders and gun manufacturers offering 'try before you buy' schemes.

You can have a good look at all the kit available, try some out and then make an informed decision.

If you then decide to buy 2nd hand off the forums, just remember the traders who were good to you and return the favour when you are ready to buy brand new kit in the future.

The Tippmann Challenge game is near you at Gatwick in August, it'll have the UK's biggest trade presense. Pop along for the Saturday and see the traders (it's free - it'll not cost you a penny) or better still buy a ticket and play some ball over the weekend, you can rent kit for a tenner (includes a brand new Tippmann marker). I'll declare an interest - I run the event. But the advice regarding speaking to traders and trying out kit is valid and a good chance to see all the various types of guns all in one place.

Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can go there, as you said Gatwick is not far. Just wondering, will there be discounts there?

Most traders will do you a deal on kit at events.

But it's seldom about getting it at the cheapest price - finding out which traders will support you afterwards by going to UK events is also important. That way, if you get any problems they'll sort your kit out for you. If you buy it from the cheapest and they don't support UK events, then you are screwed if your kit goes boobs up.

Okay, so it's free to go to the event but it costs £50 to play PBall right? Also, are paintballs included in the ticket/Rental Ticker.

The event takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday.

If you want to play paintball on either or both of those days with the hundreds of other players there then you'll have to fork out for a ticket which is 50 notes and paint can be bought from the traders at 25 quid a box and upwards.

However, for the Tippmann Challenge, if you just want to turn up, chew the fat, take a look around the trader area, drink beer, tell people lies, party, dance, camp or do anything else that paintballers do at events - then it's all free of charge.

Most events make you pay for that but Shoreline events do not (Tippmann Challenge is a Shoreline event - if you look at my sig and avatar, you'll see I've got a vested interest in this conversation).

Hope that helps you bud.
