okay, really stupid question... but, i teach drum lessons, and the same as guitarists, people develop calases where the stick rubs in the hand... etc.

so, do people who are playing much more often than me or you, or have been playing for much longer, still bruise like biatches or do they almost develop thicker skin here and there where they regularily get shot; although i understand the likelyhood of getting shot in the exact same place twice, what with the ball being very small, and the human body surface area being much larger (apart from snow whites dwarves :p)...

so, stupid question over, now time for the stupid answers, but please, can i get a few semi-serious ones??? :D

my skin is as soft and delicate as the day i was born thanks to nivea Q10+. That and placenta....

short answer - yes. My throat doesn't bruise half as bad as what it did back in the day.

yes, but you find that the bruises aren't as bad, or last as long due to the quality of the paint and it actually breaking the majority of the time

DOg is such a legend.

I have noticed since when I first started playing above punter level (about 16 month ago) and since marshalling 2 days a week for the past 16 months bruising has gone down one hell of a lot, and no it isn’t due to wearing more padding. In fact I have done the opposite, I used to wear 2 or 3 t shirts before, but not I don’t even wear a t shirt under the marshals jacket (flimsy council workers plastic thing) so yes after a while I’m pretty sure your body does get used to being shot
