Right, I'm considering putting a DM frame on my (ok...my Dad's :)) IR3, however, I am told the existing COPS system won't work with the board, and I'll need to put eyes on it.

This is apparently what needs to be done, to enable it to be eye'd.

from PBN WDP forum

...need to drill the eye holes, open up the noid air passage, seal off the holes from the old cops system, drill and tap holes for the eye cover screw
why would they open up the noid air passage?
Its because of the cops system. The cops rod cuts through the middle of noid air chamber so its really 2 air passages both ending at the cops rod. The air goes from the lpr to the end of one side, goes through the diverter plate(the black plate with 2 o-rings in it thats held in by the grip frame) to the other side, then makes it way to the noid.

The diverter plate is right where the eye wires need to run and where the eye coved go into the body. So to do the eyes on an ir3 you need to take out the diverter plate, tap and seal the 4 holes that used to be used for the cops system, then open the noid air passage so that the air fron the lpr actualy makes it to the noid.......Yeah COPS system
So, what are the chances I would be able to do this myself (think I know the answer already..!)?

And if I can't do the job, Tom :), would you be willing to do this, and how much would you look at charging please? Thanks!

I am going to investigate whether it'd be possible to take the eye harness component off a WDP board and solder it onto the DM board; but there's not much point, might just be creating extra work...? Are the WDP/Dye eyes supposed to be 'better' than the other?

but I love my speed to much to hack it up :)
(if putting DM eyes on, you have to widen the eye holes, therefore destroying the chances of going back to stock parts)

Only scanned through a bit of your post but with the new modding will the angel be able to run off HP bottles now??
Or is that an 04 speed?

No it's an 05 Speed, and no it won't, because you're only changing the board; none of the internals like reg, etc. Having it run off LP is an advantage!!

fish click the search button and i really want to know what happens to this :p
Just bored, and it's sloooow as....:)

Not sure whether you have to use an UL frame or just a stock DM/PM 4/5 frame though?

You talking about the shocker fish? :)
Just waiting for the parts to come ;)
Might have talked about this before but didn't have the time

Depending which works better (I will keep that one :D) I will be selling either the shego or the DM'd IR3, or (doubtful :p) if they're both better than my Speed then I'll sell that.

Either or should be fine.

If you used an UL frame it would have to be the DM4/5/C as it has a flat top that would sit flush against the angel frame. SO you shouldn't have a problem fitting the stock DM frame.

Do the screw holes line up or are you going to have to mill the screw holes, and frame position?

I don't have the money for an U/L frame so I'd use a stock Dye/Proto one, and I'd have a go with a DM3 frame if it'd be any cheaper :D
I'd have to mill the frame I believe :)
