Never had a DM6, so I can only speak for Ego's.
Never had a chop, never had a break on paint (which has been properly looked after and reasonable quality)
Ego's are marginly harder on paint than a closed bolt system (shocker, dm) but they are shot by the winning pro teams, so you can't argue with that.
Light, fast, ultimately very simple to maintain (no silly orings to lube)
Rips right out of the box.
