300 or 232

whatever you do, don't use a 232 bar fill rig on a 300 bar bottle.

THEY ARE MADE DIFFERENTLY FOR A REASON

A 300 bar bottle will be marked ps300bar, and has around 13 threads in its fitting, where a 232 bar has about 6 - 9.

You can use a 300 bar fill rig on a 232 bar, but not the other way round.

An a frame valve will look like a square block about 30mm sq, with an opening on one side which has an o ring in the face.

An a frame adapter goes over this valve and has either a bsp outlet or a din threaded outlet.

The din thread is about 25mm in diameter and will be a female thread.

I hope this helps, if there's anything else i can help with please ask.

The 300 bar bottle has 4500 psi, a lot more pressure than the 232 bar which has about 3500 psi ( 1 bar = 14.5 psi, approx ).

And remember you can use the 300 bar fill rig in a 232 bar bottle with a din fitting, but not the other way round.

The 300 bar has no clamp, that's only for the older 232 bar bottles, because the older 232 bottle A clamp can't cope with 4500 psi (300 bar). On a 300 bar bottle the fill rig screws directly into the bottle valve.

Skeetmaster is right about the divers normally using 232, when i was looking for a 300 bar diving bottle i couldn't find a used one anywhere.

Question, what size bottle is on your gun, and what is its MAX PSI.
i.e. don't try filling a low pressure bottle, 207 or 232 bar (3000 or 3500 psi) with 300 bar (4500 psi). Or you could be finding youself eating hospital food (bang !!!)

Safety is important when your playing around with high pressure gases, to give an example of the pressures, a co2 bottle has around 750 psi, and when an elbow fails it's quite impressive. Just think how much more that would be at 4500 psi, that's 6 times more pressure.

Its definitely worth taking everything to a good paintball shop, and asking them to check everything is correct.

300 bar will give you more fills than a 232, provided they are similar or same sized.

somthing i found out for a previous thread

207 bar = approx 3004psi

232 bar = approx 3367psi

300 bar = approx 4354psi

so a 300 bar cylinder will give you nearly one full fill on a 4500psi air system, will then subsequently fill for a while over 3000psi. this will however drop each time a fill is taken.

300 bar is defo the way to go for paintball, as it gives you more fills and teamed up with either another 300 or 232 cylinder will allow you to bulk and top up and therefore maintain healthy fills for longer.

I have to ask you this again as its REALLY IMPORTANT .

WHAT CAPACITY IS THE BOTTLE ON YOUR GUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!

again, WHAT CAPACITY IS THE BOTTLE ON YOUR GUN !!!!!!!!!!!.

If its 3000 psi you can't fill it with a 4500 psi dive tank, OK

you can still fill a 3000psi system from a 300 bar bottle, but you must fill slowly no flash filling and you MUST stop when you reach the fill pressure for your air system as indicated on the fill rig gauge or preferebly on your air systems gauge. Your airsystem will have a bottle fill pressure on it's label this must never be exceeded as toma says BANG = hospital food = not good

I would probably fill a 3000 psi from a 4500 psi with the knowledge and experience that i have now, but a newbie to air, not a good idea.

You have to learn the rules first, understand the physics, then you can cheat a little.
