i think steam is exelent, you get updates which include models and maps for free and you get free trials of stuff, also the servers that are vac secured stop hackers " well i havnt seen any on cs:s"

Its looking alright, didnt see much use of the source engine itself. Would love to see something like, you shooting a bunker and the riples spread across it / endents which then spring back out. Probally just take too long to code though.

As for this:

Steam is a good idea but not well executed

I think there doing pretty well at the moment. Locked in the market and secured themselves free advertising through steam application. Many small updates is better then the 350 mb download every 4 months. Though it wont make a difference now with everyone on broadband but in 56K / ISDN days that was a 3 hour wait !

And:

VAC stops hackers

VAC is crap....I dont know what game you play but it just doesnt stop anything. CS Source is dead thats why you dont see any hackers on it.

Ha My cs source is buggered, something to do with my graphics card but i can see shadows and sprays through walls

my gfx and cpu has blown too ,i can play for 10 minutes then my pc over heats and crashed and thats on the lowest gfx setting avalible with a fps config running

cs > css when I used too play... css was far too easy too get headshots (or was that just me?) I got banned from nearly all the servers so that got boring... cs was much harder, not only did I have too battle with server admins too stop banning me I had too kill hackers aswell! That was fun when they kept getting killed xD "pro hacker you are!" the good old days...

I do believe source is dead...
