i know there is a little bit of interest for Stiffi barrels lately but then although they do come in differnt sizes and they do do a complete set (not released as yet) the backs are too short to be of a decent effect they are more like barrel sizing rings ala Soverign. A Stiffi front for a Freak is a better idea.
If you wish to go with something differnt that shoots well then an Edge Kit is a good option or even go with what I have, a SM1 from Sanchez Machine, you have different options from a one piece barrel and inserts and a 2 piece with inserts plus a range of colours.

nope the control bore of the stiffi is about the same length as a freak insert, if you look down the barrel you can see the step the same as you can in other barrels, you are thinking that the small aluminium part at the tip is the control bore, it isnt its just the thread collar that holds it to the marker, the carbon barrel runs inside it all the way to the back, the ball never touches it

No I know how a barrel works the control bore is the first section the ball comes in to contact with. In the Stiffi they are too short..effective control bore length is at least as long as a Freak approx 4 inches in length..the Stiffi is totally lacking in the length dept...all totally innocent comments but they take on a whole new meaning when talking about these barrels

agreed talking about the length of your stiffi does sound dodgy

but seriously the control bore is about the same length as the freak insert....and they shoot damn fine!

Mark, from the outside it looks like the control bore only goes an inch or two, but inside the control bore is about 6 inches.

We were sponsored with these last year. I had a bunch. All i can say to all you guys getting them is keep them clean, never leave paint in your barrel longer than a game. Swab it really well any time you come off the field after breaking paint. Also, avoid playing in sand if at all possible. These barrels are incredible strong, but the interior finish gets fuzzy if you don't baby it. They shoot great until they start wearing out, which is quick if you don't keep 'em clean.

I really like CP barrels. Good advice. I think someone told me they even use the same thread between front and back as the freak, but I never have checked.

I like Ti Longbows even better, but they are expensive at retail price. If budget matters, they wouldn't be an option.
