Take it as a compliment! It's probably something to do with you rippig it up big time at the Indoor at Hilton Park in February - you certainly didn't look like a division 4 team to me that day :)
It also depends on who else has entered on a particular day, and how many brand new teams have appeared. If you have an event with loads of Am A/Pro teams entered and only a couple of newby teams, then expect to be down a ways. If on the other hand there's few top level teams entered and loads of new teams have started up over the off season, then expect to get bumped up a division.

Just have a look at who's in the division BELOW yours, and think about whether there's any teams there who would beat you easily every time out. I can think of one or two who would give you a hard game, but it was probably a case of "which one of these 3 teams shall we put up", then they would have looked at the last couple of tourneys you all played and see if they have an idea how well you've been training over the winter, who's been coaching you, who you've been training against etc. The first tourney of a new season will always throw up a few anomolies as many teams progress over the off season and many go backwards.
Remember the best way to improve is to play or train against higher level opponents:)
