As far as i know a regular UK marker will fire at close to 12 joules, German markers are supposed to be reduced to 7 joules.

Here are some more figures
A paintball marker firing in the region of 290-300fps using an average weight paintball will fire in the region of 13-13.5 Joules.
Below 1 joule would be in the "toy" class and this is the level BB guns use.
