hey crom,

do you know anything about autocockers?
I put a thread up in classifieds cos i want one and i have received information on 2 markers and a 3rd from buff at diablo.

there is one for £400 that is really nice and done up but £400 is stretching it abit. then there is one for £350 which has also had stuff done to it. then the 3rd one is just a basic one for £250.

what do you recommend as i will use it 95% of the time for just normal/non-tourny games with mates who will be using site guns.

please help,

jeevus

Hi,

I fully customised a cocker (Alien from the Pychopimps is now the proud owner) and I can help you!
What bits have they both got? as a lot of the 'upgrades' are purely cosmetic or make very little differance but give us the details and I'll give my opinions,

Regards,

Paul.

markers

right these are the markers up for sale:

£250, bog standard autococker that i can test on the 3rd of feb

£350, double trigger, new reg (air or CO2), new internals, 6 barrels including 2 boomsticks and CO2 bottle

£350, jakko barrel and double trigger. thats all i was told

£400, eclipse blade trigger, ergo reg, dye grips, eclipse dropline, 20oz CO2 tank, sidewinder "REX" velocity adjuster, 3 barrels including a boomstick.

right now can anyone suggest the best one for someone who will play against site guns mostly and play a maximum of about 15 times a year?

thanx, jeevus

ok it sounds like you'll be playing mostly rec ball, With that in mind the stock Coker works fine, however as you will be playing mostly with site paint which has incredible variences in size you could do with about 3 or so different bore size barrels (small, med & Large)
The Eclipse Blade trigger really is excellent and lets you rip lots of paint very easily (do you have an aggitated hopper revvy for example?). the dye stickies are very comfortable to hold as is the ergo reg and is very good (Planet use them on the eclipses)

Really the choice is wide open, if you went for the stock cocker chances are you'll end up spending between £50-£80 on at least 1 other barrel and even then you'll find it a pain matching the site paint with the barrel.

For my money I'd have to go for the £400 it sounds alot but does have more then £150 worth of upgrades on it and has a nice selection of barrels.

Also the double triggers are not comfortable in my opinion as the trigger pull is a slide pull not a pivot (eclipe frame excluded)

£250, bog standard autococker that i can test on the 3rd of feb
Standard frame feels cheap standard grips are also quite nasty stock barrel is loud and basically turd! Cheap though but I think you'll spend more on upgrades!

New reg is nice depending what it is stock reg works fine with Co2 and Air! new internals...depends what they are, double trigger as I said above! 6 barrels is nice are they different bore sizes though and what makes are they? Stock frame and grips see above!

£350, jakko barrel and double trigger. thats all i was told
Jacko barrel is good only 1 though. double trigger, stock frame and grips see above!

excellent frame and grips, easy to adjust velocity with the rex dialer, better reg(tried and tested!) eclipse dropline is good if you're only going to run Co2 are the 3 barrels different bore sizes?

Hope that helps!

Go for either of these although i'd say the same as Paul and shell out the extra on the £400 as the Blade rips, the Rex should really be factory fit by now (one of the most important upgrades in my opinion as velocity adjustment is sooooo easy! Ergo reg is better than the standard and 3 barrels are always useful!!!

You missed out the other barrel is an ARMSON SSR. The only straight rifled barrel on the market. The Boomstick is something like .689 while the Armson is .693 I think.

If you want anymore info on the gun let me know. When you see what condition it is you'll be drooling:D

Any questions just give me a shout:)

barrels

this is for simon and anyone else in the know,

there are two things i dont have a clue about:

1. why are there different sized balls and which is the usual size? (i.e. diablo size)

2. whats with the pressure differences? to me, the higher the pressure, the better it sounds but is this the case??
